The Restorative Games

Image
At football, baseball, and basketball games, God was restoring us—both individually and in our relationship. He was healing us while we simply lived our daily lives. In the background, God was doing what only He can do: changing us at the root, replacing despair, regret, shame, and destruction with something new. Looking back on His work in our lives gives me hope for what He can do in our nation and in the lives of others—if we are willing to change. Change isn't easy, and I'll never pretend it is. Living with eight people in one room is not the Marriott. Imagine working 12-14 hours a day, only to go home to an environment where everyone has feelings. It's exhausting in every way, from physical labor to human emotions, while enduring hatred from a country that promotes freedom. We can be angry and choose hatred, but how will it impact the country overall? What will the hatred accompli...
